Cheversi, as the name suggests, is an interesting territory game, created by Andy Lewicki. The rules are easy to understand, and the games always have exactly 8 moves, it is fast to play and finish. Why Cheversi? Well, the game is a mix of Chess and Reversi, which is another name for Othello.

Elephant trap: Both queens fall victim
The Elephant Trap is a well-known pitfall in the Queen’s Gambit Declined, where White inadvertently falls into a trap by pinning Black’s f6 knight and capturing the d5 pawn, failing to realize that they have made a critical mistake and are now in danger of losing a valuable piece, and possibly even the entire game.
Intermediate: Pawns vs. pawns, even doubled ones
Why do I mention it here? Note the pawn structure – White dominates the king side (four pawns against three), while the black pawns on the queen side are fully blocked by the white ones, thanks to the doubled pawns on the d-file. Let’s have a look at the possible outcome that could appear at the endgame.
