And once again I present a selected game from our database. The opening was the Four Knights game, which didn’t belong to the most aggressive ones. However, the game is still intriguing in many aspects. For example:
- It demonstrates how important it is for White to keep the initiative. After the 4th move, they simply let Black control the pace of the game.
- The position after the 6th move shows a situation where even a queen can feel safe in the center, and support the ongoing quest for domination.
- The game explains the way to attack weak pawns in the opponent’s structure.
- It is also a neat example of the exchange sacrifice that led to a crucial advantage of a bishop pair against a rook.
