I am not certain why the quote from the famous Zero Wing localization to broken English popped up in my head during this game analysis. Maybe the black king’s anabasis to the white camp looked a bit like a way of a condemned, as White’s attack didn’t give him a chance to save himself. However, the game is very impressive, and demonstrates several tactical tricks to remember:
- How to exploit the opponent’s constrained position where minor pieces block the pawns.
- A temporary sacrifice to break through the enemy king’s defenses.
- A decoy to lure the king further to the attacking player’s base.
I recommend reading the full transcript. It is not related to chess at all, but still amuses a great deal.
