The Würzburger Trap is a trap in the Vienna Game chess opening, named after Max Würzburger, a German banker, around 1930.
Not every trap ends with a checkmate or a queen capture. This one allows White to get “only” a bishop, but the material advantage is still sufficient to win the game.
Looks cool, doesn’t it? Unlike in the Frankenstein-Dracula Variation, the queen charge is done by Black, but it is actually incorrect. Be ready to punish opponents who try that against you.
